The Man

Shelton Lee Mavity, aka Lee Mavity

December 10, 1947 — November 3, 2023

“I might not make it.”

Shelton “Lee” Mavity was of great help to the Ares Studios project Axanar.  He served with distinction at several of the filming shoots at Ares Studio in Lawrenceville, Georgia as a trusted trouble shooter and runner working directly for producer Alec Peters.  Mr. Mavity was also a long-time donor and patron of the project and thus contributed to making production of “Axanar” possible.

In his professional life, Lee was a great systems engineer who worked for several major contractors in support of the U.S. military, serving at Lockheed Martin, TRW, and Northrop Grumman over his nearly fifty year career.

Lee was a great friend to many over the more than fourty years in which I knew him, and he will be forever remembered by those whose lives he touched.

Lee W. Benjamin

Listening to Lee’s stories at events we did was always a blast. Lee worked for the defense industry during Vietnam and then worked on a lot of secret projects for “the company”!  He was living history and just the jolly sort who was fun to have helping out. We will miss him.
