“Heroes” shoot Day 2
Wednesday, Nov. 5th, 2015
Day one was relatively easy. Rob was intent on ending early so the crew could get a good night’s sleep. And the plan went perfectly. The team showed up at 9:00am fresh and ready for a long day. We only got 2.5 pages done yesterday, which meant we had to do 6.5 pages today! So midnight was looking realistic.
The good news is Rob is great at keeping a loose set and staying positive and letting everyone know what a good job they do. So he and Milton got the most out of the crew. Plus Star Trek New Voyages Gaffer Kent Schmidt arrived which was a huge help as he really knows how to get the lighting the DP wants done.
We had two scenes in the corridor, Garth’s arrival and departure from the Enterprise in the transporter room and a bridge scene. A lot of set ups!
In the end, we finished at 11:15 and everyone had a great time. Afterword there was much drinking!
Thanks to EVERYONE at Star Trek: New Voyages, especially James Cawley, Dennis Hotson and Marybeth Ritouski. Also David Gerrold and Daren Dochterman for showing up to support us! It is always great to have friends around.

Great photos. Nice to see David Gerrold there. I remember reading his stuff in Starlog magazine. Especially his article on being a “dead ape” for a scene in “Battle for the Planet of the Apes”.
What rank is Garth supposed to be? According to Memory Alpha, the braid for commodore is a band of solid gold with ric rack on the edges
