Captain’s Log – June 25th, 2017

By June 27, 2017 Captain's Log

Well, it is finally done!  The first draft of the Axanar screenplay, for the next two episodes of The Four Years War, is complete.  And it is pretty damn cool!  It is now out to a small group of our core team and a few of our biggest fans who we work with.

So far he feedback has been fantastic.   Here are a few tidbits for you:

  1.  The script follows the format of Prelude to Axanar, which was Part III of The Four Years War documentary series.
  2. We are making two 15 minute episodes, which are parts IV and V (Prelude was 20 minutes)
  3. You will see an Andorian Admiral and Vulcan and Andorian ship captains.
  4. You will get to meet Garth’s crew.
  5. We are not recasting Kharn, we could never replace Richard. But there is a new Klingon who is Kharn’s mentor.
  6. The script addresses both Kharn and Ramirez’ absence in very cool, in-universe ways.
  7. The script is a first draft, and will undergo changes as any script does.
  8. The script covers the lead up to the Battle of Axanar as well as the Axanar Peace Mission.

Now I will be focusing on pre-production while we re-write the script.  Costumes, crew and casting are all high priority, and we will be of course talking directly to donors about funding the films.

So thank you and stay tuned as we get to making the next two installments of the Star Trek you all want to see!

Let me know if you need another fan review!!!!

Even at this early stage, the story will make Axanar fans very happy, and flows perfectly from “Prelude To Axanar” into the next chapter.

    Hi Alec,

I figured for awhile you would opt for adding documentary chapters. I think that is the only realistic way to do it and very good decision. I am just confused about the second episode being about the Axanar Peace Accord. Is that something that was mentioned in the canon series? Was it something you had planned for the feature film? I thought you would use both episodes for the battle given the cut in time. My first fear is that a peace accord episode could be anti climactic. I’m having visions of a Star Wars episode 1 edit where all the Senate scenes are moved to the very end of the movie. Obi-Wan: “I will train you Anakin. You will become a Jedi” and then “The Congress of Malastare concurs with the honorable delegate from the Trade Federation. A commission must be appointed.” 🙂

I didnt say a whole episode would be about the Peace Mission. It will be in the second episodes, but it is a small part.

And yes, Kirk mentions being part of the Peace Mission.

Awesome News! The next big thing would be to begin production! (Okay, I am excited and I know you have to crawl before you can walk & run.)

When the TOS films came out during the 80’s, I lived in a little town in the middle of nowhere. The local theatre would get “new” movies a year or eighteen months after they came out. I would buy book adaptations of the script. After both episodes are complete, if the full length film script can be adapted, this fan would be dancing in the street!

Wishing you the best Alec. My family and I can’t wait to get our hands on as much Axanar as possible. Smooth sailing, friend. Fly true. There are a lot of us with all our hopes pinned there with you. Namaste.

Must feel really great to get back to the original business of making the videos. And having that script in hand must feel especially rewarding. Talk about casting, costumes, and crew lifts our spirits!

Where do I help out with the filming/digitizing by a donation?
