Questions will keep popping up, and so we want to make sure you all get the answers to those questions. Here are a few I have seen:
Q: Since the Guidelines do not allow DVDs/Blu-Rays to be distributed, what happens to the ones promised as perks in the Kickstarter and Indiegogo?
A: Donors will get the DVD/Blu-rays as promised! All perks are allowed to be delivered after we complete making Axanar in the revised format.
Q: The Kickstarter and Indiegogo said you would deliver a 90 minute movie, but now you can only make 30 minutes of Star Trek Fan Film. What can the donors expect here?
A: While we’ll comply with the requirements of limiting our fan film to two 15 minute segments, there will be more content that we know our fans will love on the DVDs/Blu-Rays While Adhering to the settlement agreement – we will only post the two segments to YouTube – we want to do what we can to make Axanar fans happy and be as close as possible to what we said we would deliver.
Q: What will happen to the Vulcan Scene?
A: The Vulcan Scene will remain publicly available on YouTube, as well as being on the Axanar DVD/Blu-Ray.
Q: What will happen to the Studio?
A: The Studio was built out specifically to allow us to make Axanar. When we were served a lawsuit 30 days before the beginning of principal photography, we decided to finish the studio in order to be able to rent it out in order to pay the rent. We are now close to being able to rent the studio out. However, that will only allow us to fulfill the terms of the lease through the end of the year. If we are successful, and we can make money off of the studio, then we will use that money to help fund the obligations of Axanar.

HERE THE ONE QUESTION NO HAVE ANSWERED HERE?, is jan-31-2017 court data still on? and will both paramount studio and cbs studio stop any one for useing this name of star trek?
The settlement means the lawsuit is over. There is no court date now. And of course, you can’t use the name Star Trek without their permission. That si why Axanar removed it from our name almost two years ago.
I have a big question about this subject, i want to here more about the lawsuit that axanar and cbs and paramount came out with this?, can some one send me a copy of the settlement of axanar? Please to this email get2it88@yahoo.com
Sorry, we cannot reveal the settlement agreement as it is confidential.
Alec, thanks for the update! I’m sorry you didn’t get to do your full-length movie, but 30 minutes (plus the Vulcan scene plus Prelude) is WAY better than worst-case. And MAYBE it gives you leeway to do something innovative that doesn’t go against the fan film guidelines? I think I’ve seen some ideas hidden in your posts. Or maybe I’m reading too much into them …
Hey how can I get the dvd when you finish it. I’ve followed this case from the start and feel that you should have been allowed to make the movie. But not have it released to theaters just on dvd.
Unfortunately, we can only supply DVDs/Blu-Rays to current donors.

These are nice news. What I wonder mosst about is when you think production will be back in service? So, any ideas to when filming might start and when (like which year) we can expect to see the movie?
cheers!
We will start production in a few months after we work out all of the plans.
Can you do 30 min. episodes? Also I am a Big fan of larry nivens ringworld, any chance you all could do a movie of that?
No we can only do 15 minute episodes.
Alec
Alec, were you injured in any way by the settlement?
I can’t discuss specifics, but I am fine!
🙂
Well, I know I speak for many when I say thank you for any and all sacrifices you may have made to insure that we all did not face disappointed by a very unfavorable outcome, and thank you for all your hard work and accessibility. You have earned our fondness, respect and loyalty.

Thank you Troy! I really appreciate your support!

I just watched Prelude to Axanar. It was amazing. All of you have done an incredible job. I personally think that the court rulings are unfair. You should be allowed to make a full length movie, but just remove the Star Trek name.
Although I will not be able to get a DVD or Blu-ray copy, I absolutely look forward to seeing the episodes that you will put on your you tube page.
You have all done an amazing job. Keep up the incredible work
Much respect
Robert
What about those expecting a digital download (independent from YouTube) as a perk. Why is the extra content allowed on DVD only?
Also will people be willing to make private donations for a film that they can never see in full because they won’t be able to get access to the DVD?
The DVD/Blu Rays will all be sent as planned. The digital download never included the extra features, but we are looking at all the options to deliver as much as we can to our donors. Hang tight as I think you will pleased with what we do.

This settlement has huge implications. I know you felt the needs to settle, but this just means others will have to stop their dreams, smaller groups than yours, because of this settlement. They would have have to fight whomever owns the rights to their favorite Sci-Fi, or Fantasy film, or or show. I am sorry, this ruins any joy of seeing this film. I believed you were making the proto-typical Trek film. Everything great, and beautiful felt Star Trek was. I know you did too, but now it is ruined, ruined because someone is limiting your creativity, and vision.
Wow. You need to listen to the podcast, dude. http://trek.fm/axp/s1
Will you be doing any additional “15 minutes” episodes after Axanar is complete? It was a “4 year war”?
Stay tuned for details, but we can only do two 15 min episodes of “Axanar”.
