Captain’s Log – Jan. 21st, 2017 – Thoughts on the Settlement

By January 21, 2017 Captain's Log

Saturday, January 21st, 2017

Well, first of all, thank you to all of you who have reached out and congratulating on settling.  While I didn’t stress much, even after living with a lawsuit for 13 months, it is nice to have that burden off our shoulder.

Oh and there WILL be a settlement party, and we already have been lucky to have an AMAZING venue in Hollywood donated for the event (which of course will have Sushi).  All donors will be invited to this party.

And as you know, we had an amazing parody done about us, called Prelude to Ax’d We Are.  If you have not seen it, you must!  It is hilarious!

And also, Dave Heagney wrote an insightful blog that any lawsuit watcher should read.  Please read it and support Dave’s efforts.  You can read it here:

Stuff I think About

That’s it for tonight!  Much more tomorrow.

    Hi there,

clad everything is behind you. They still should have let you do this film as you wanted to make it. Star Trek Continues were able to finish there episodes. All in all they don’t appreciate what Star Trek fans want. I like most of all the Fan films. The show what Star Trek is all about. All I can say about CBS and Paramount is GREED.

    Sincerely Michael

Ever since the beginning of the lawsuit I’ve had an idea: You have the sets, costumes and the actors, why not make a “graphic novel” and release it to donors as a .PDF? Since you now have to condense a 100 page script into a 30 minute movie, a graphic novel would be great lead-in to the movie. Photograph it on the sets with actors, intersperse SFX stills and it’s the story leading up to the final battle. Remember the graphic novel adaptations of the 1980’s Star Trek movies? That’s what I’m talking about. You can photograph it before you actually bring the movie cameras in.

Hey, 30 minutes stinks but it’s better than nothing. I would’ve been satisfied with a graphic novel replacement for the entire film but given the guidelines, this saves precious screen time for the final battle itself while allowing the complete Axanar story to be told. Best wishes to the entire Axanar team!

Corporatists and their IPs enforcement are what will make planet Earth boring as hell.
