Well, while I was in Charleston, SC, Associate Producer Dana Wagner, who has been our stalwart construction coordinator installing all the console panels, finished routing out the bottom console panel holes for the Fleet Ops console. And it looks great. You can see he even laid out some LED lights to test how it would look.
While not nearly done, the Tactical and Fleet Ops consoles are getting there. We still need to install computer monitors and Rasberry Pis in the upper section of each, but progress is being made! In the picture above, the panel has had its sides painted with two coats of black paint so no light bleeds through the sides. On the panel next to it you can see it only has one coat of black paint, allowing light to bleed through as it is printed on top.
More coming!

Edging the panels with black electrical tape might prove more effective at blocking light, plus I suspect it would be performed faster than painting, as there is no is no drying time involved.
Actually hockey stick tape is matte black might be better
Cool Beans, Cap’n !!
Hockey stick tape is matte black, which might be better.
Will the making of the bridge set and other props be bonus content on the blueray, so we might try similar projects ourselves?
