The first full day of the Las Vegas Star Trek convention was a big success. Not only has Creation stepped up to improve the con in a myriad of ways, but Axanar is being discussed constantly here.
The big news is a meeting with CBS I had. While I can’t discuss details, I can say that it was good to finally find out what CBS thinks of us. There will be a lot more discussion I am sure, but the CBS’ desire NOT to give any guidelines was discussed as well as the problems that causes for Axanar. We are basically working in the dark. But both John Van Citters and Bill Burke are good people and I have known them both for a few years. More to come on this!
I have yet to see the new Centaur model from Eagle-Moss. And while I don’t collect these (I have one, the Bajoran Sail Ship) because they are all different scales and that hurts my OCD, I will definitely get the Centaur! After all, it is the inspiration for the USS Ares!
Oh and here is part of my collection on display at the Propworx Auction Room. Yes, those are all real. Trelane, Khan, Garth.
Meanwhile, Axanar won Best Short Film at the Gwinnett Center International Film Festival (July 31 – August 2, 2015). Here were the nominees:
Woo hoo!
Alec
Alec, Congratulations on the win! A big validation step for Axanar, recognizing the quality of the production and all the Axanar Team’s efforts and yours, in particular.Hope we can get more insight to the CBS thing when you can, it would be very interesting to see what they think of the story, background info and “fit” into the TOS era.
OK OK CBS should just let you and Rob run all of TREK !!!!! LOL and who knows maybe they will make some real $$$$$$ with people who love the product at the helm ??
Congrats Alec and Team Axanar on a most splendid job well done!!!!!
Awesome!
Alec, first, CONGRATULATIONS to the entire team for winning best short, Fiction!!! Well Done! Another award that shows true professionals are behind and working this. So proud to just be a contributor. Second, that is AWESOME that some of your personal collection is on display for everyone to enjoy. Very gracious of you to “put them out” for everyone’s enjoyment. Thank you and Congrats again to you, Dianna and the rest of the team!!!
Is it just me or does the Garth costume look like it could be an evolution of the uniforms from Enterprise?
!! Congratulations.
Congratulations Alec & Co. Well done and well deserved! It’s about time people understand what true professionals can do when given a chance.
