Dave Lanyon

Executive Producer

Author, Lecturer, and Producer Dave Lanyon has been the driving force behind the explosive growth of the Modern Mystery School since he joined the organization in 2004. In his few short years at the helm, the school has expanded from 12 countries to 55 with his efforts.

He retired early from the corporate world and after having run several of his own successful enterprises, Dave brings a wealth of experience to his students and projects. He bridges the worlds of Hermetics, metaphysics and spirituality with practical and intelligent wisdom that can be universally applied.

“You Are Not Perfect The Way You Are”, Dave’s first book published in 2022, is a compilation of the practical, actionable steps people can take in their lives to understand themselves better. As a life-long martial artist, athlete and instructor with many certifications and accreditations, Dave leans into challenge with a resilient warrior mindset. Like a coach who will push you to take your skill and performance to the next level, Dave sees the highest potential in all those he meets and will hold you to a higher standard than you hold for yourself – until you can see it and are able to do it on your own.

As a life-long Star Trek fan, Dave has always appreciated the archetypal characters and universal principles featured in the stories of the series. He joined the Axanar team as Executive Producer because he saw the intrinsic merit in its message and the necessity of that narrative in the world today.

Gudni Gudnason

Executive Producer

Icelandic by birth, Gudni Gudnason and his wife Eiko live in Tokyo Japan now. Since an early age, Gudni has travelled the world, inspiring thousands of individuals to awaken to the possibility of World Peace and a grander vision of life than mediocrity. This lead to Gudni founding the Modern Mystery School in 1997, which has grown to programs in 55 countries around the world.

Gudni, is a master metaphorical teacher who imparts metaphysical and esoteric principles using analogy, allegory, and parable. Through humour, theatrics and the sharing of fantastical tales, he shares his wisdom, knowledge, methods, and tools. He uses these methods to allow students to explore their own insights and test the clarity of their discernment. The student is meant to discern a deeper meaning in the stories to question their own preconceived notions and beliefs. He reminds all students that they are their own best teacher, but only through discernment and considering alternative perspectives can one come to know what they truly know. If a tool doesn’t resonate with a student, he guides them to another, encouraging them to dive deeper into the mysteries by delving into mythos and potentialities held in our self mastery and understanding.

He will always promote living a life of pure magick and mysticism, embracing the royalty of the divine self within, and, above all, finding JOY in life by coming to Know Thyself. You will find Gudni putting this into practice by not only being a great teacher, story weaver and reminder to many, but also by creating art, writing poetry, making music, producing movies and enjoying life to the fullest.

Gudni recently completed his directorial debut “Mysterious Pond”, set to release in 2025.

Crysstal Hubbard

Co-Executive Producer

Crysstal Hubbard was born in San Diego to a Hollywood High/Vaudeville family. Crysstal began commercial and stage work at a young age, competing in Shakespeare competitions at age twelve through High School.

She opted to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and at 18 moved to the city, where she spent 8 years. She received notice as a producer and stage manager in the Theater World Yearbook of 2004 and she appeared on stage and produced under her own company.

Crysstal did background work on several shows including Law and Order, All My Children, SNL, and Californication as well as working as an interviewer for TME RED CARPET and SciFi channel. She still loves every aspect of filmmaking and has produced her own series of Supergirl fan films.

Crysstal’s parents began taking her to science fiction conventions when she was just a toddler so taking part in the Star Trek fandom today is a dream come true.

Dale Simpson

Co-Producer

Dale Simpson is a 28 year US Army veteran having been a member of the 82d Airborne Division and completed 2 combat tours with the Georgia Guard in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dale then finished a BS in Criminal Justice in 1987 at Georgia Southern and became a Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Deputy where he served in a variety of positions including SWAT and Court Security. He retired after 21 years and since 2017 has served as Director of Security for Ares Studio and the Executive Officer of the Star Fleet International USS Ares Chapter.

Dale has been the rock of Ares Studios since 2017, serving as Alec’s right hand and doing anything that was needed at the studio or during a film shoot.

Dale is also involved in Axanar Animal Rescue and has been instrumental in the Cat TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program, having helped TNR over 200 cats over the past two years.
