Everyone here listens the to the official Axanar podcast, right? It's one of the best places to get the inside track on what's happening with Ares Studios and the production of Axanar. But if that's not enough of a reason to listen, here's another - it's just been nominated as a finalist for the 'Best Podcast about Speculative Fiction Content Creation' category for the upcoming Parsec Awards. The Parsecs celebrate excellence in speculative fiction podcasting, and include other categories such as Audio Drama in both long and short forms, comedy casts, fan podcasts, and a lot more. Here's what Axanar's up against in the Content Creation category:
  • Literary Treks
  • Axanar: The Official Podcast
  • Continuing Mission
  • The Journeyman Writer
  • The Roundtable Podcast
So, a pretty good list to be in! There's more than a few Star Trek podcasts nominated in other categories, so have a look at the full list of finalists if you want to expand your own listening horizons. The awards themselves will be judged by a panel of elite judges, and announced at Dragon*Con in Atlanta on the Labor Day weekend - which is the first Monday in September for those of us outside of the United States. So wish us luck, folks!
