Remaining Axanar Film Shoots to be Funded by Alec Peters

We are very happy to announce that the next two Axanar film shoots, which will take place in Los Angeles and in Atlanta, are being fully funded by Alec Peters.  No fundraising will be needed to meet the $60,000 budget that remains for these shoots.  Alec has decided to fund the film shoots himself.

While Alec isn’t rich, he is used to funding Axanar, having put in over $250,000 of his own money to the project since Prelude was released in 2014.  Alec has been selling off portions of his Star Trek and Marvel screen-used prop & costume collection and this allows him to donate the funding needed himself.

“At this point, finishing Axanar is the most important goal in my life.” said Alec.  “First we had the lawsuit with CBS and Paramount, that cost donors a lot of money by delaying the project for over a year.  Then we moved to Atlanta in 2017, then we finally had another film shoot in 2019, only to have to sue the director who filed a fraudulent copyright on the footage and the script I wrote, then we get hit with Covid.  So there has been a lot of adversity.  I think the donors need to see the finished product, and I am happy to put in the money myself at this point.  The donors have been awesome in supporting our studio through our Patreon campaign and by buying cool Axanar swag in the Ares Studios Store.  Everything helps, but giving the donors the final two chapters of Axanar is the most important thing in my life right now.

There are four days of shooting left before principal photography is finished.  Three of these will happen in Los Angeles and one in Atlanta.  Stay tuned to this blog for updates throughout the shoots and post-production process.

    WOW. Thanks, Alec.

I won’t promise anything now, but I’d seriously considering kicking in a few $$ to pay you back after Axanar is finished with, of course, perhaps some swag involved.

Alec, You are a superstar! It is a wonderful project and to have to deal with those lawsuits must have been terribly stressful for you. I am ecstatic that you and the others still have the energy and will to continue. THANK YOU!!

Hi Alec…You’ve been the heart beat of Axanar, but of course you could not have pulled it off without the generous help of everyone, actors, cameramen, sound and CGI experts, folks the built your amazing sets, your amazing script and of course the people who donated funds where they could.

I have followed Star Trek from the beginning, I’m almost 62, the concept of Axanar has been a fascinating one and I’m glad to have been a small part of the Axanar world. I tip my hat to you dear sir. Your name better feature somewhere on the Bridge Plaque!

Can I ask how the entire film is going to be ultimately presented, now that filming is down to the last 4 days, how much film shooting has actually been done. I’m completely unaware of how Axanar is going to be shown, I remember some part of the deal was restricting you to only 15 minute episodes, so how many episodes will there be?…will there be any release on DVD (Blu-Ray)?…the only thing I’ve ever seen are the teasers. I think its safe to say Axanar has been, perhaps 10 years in the making, despite all the hassles and delays you’ve held in there, done the right things, and very soon Axanar Fans will be rewarded with a little bit of Star Trek history playing out on there screens. Well done Alec and to everyone.
