One of the things you do in any venture is listen to feedback. And so the feedback I was getting about Axacon was that Axanar fans wanted to go for Axanar, not Honor Harrington content. And with a full schedule of Axanar programming, there wasn’t much time for Axanar fans to go to the SphinxCon panels anyway!
So I approached David Weiner, the SphinxCon director and told him we needed an Axacon-only ticket. Now working with David is easy. He is smart, reasonable and all about making a great event. He saw the issue and we immediately agreed on a basic premise that we would sell Axacon-only tickets. It took about a week to work out the details, and we have now adjusted the ticket website to reflect the change.
You can get into all three days of Axanar programming for only $ 50. That is as good a price as any decent convention. And the programming is going to be a blast.
The schedule for Axacon includes a few donor-only events, as a thank you for our loyal donors, and opportunities to hang out with JG Hertzler and Gary Graham.
What you will find at Axacon is that it is small, intimate and all about Axanar and its fans. I specifically built a small convention with the idea of when you leave, you will have had one of the best convention experiences ever.
I am spending a few thousand $ of my own money to make sure this event is great. I don’t care if we don’t make money as long as you all have a great time.
And there will be some special previews as to what is happening with the next two episodes!
