Today was a big production day. First, David Gerrold stopped by the studio to discuss Rob and I producing his “War Against the Chtorr” series and his other property “Running Dark”. This is the type of thing we want to do after Axanar, as we actually can make money off of it! Here he poses with a Hugo Award as he was just back from hosting the Hugos, which are held at World Con.
At night we have a big script meeting with Line Producer Mike Demeritt, Unit Production Manager April Eden, Production Designer John Iacovelli, Director Rob Burnett and myself. We went through the first 44 pages of the script, which comprise the first two acts. We cut two pages, which I didn’t like anyway, and then we broke down how we would budget it. It was a great meeting and working with such experienced pros like Mike and John really allows you to see HOW we can film something on a budget. John’s work on Babylon 5 is the reason we hired John in the first place. John did amazing work on a budget and knows how to make our money go far.
So a very good day!
